It is only recently that we, Florent and Bertrand (son and father) discovered the joys of wildlife photography.
Our first forays into this magic world began when we had the opportunity to visit Botswana in 2019. Not only is this country an Eden of wildlife for it has one of the richest fauna in Africa (in particular mammals and birds) but the landscapes are just as amazing.
Two years later, this burgeoning interest was confirmed when we had the opportunity to visit Costa Rica. We discovered that birds in particular were a subject of unlimited fascination, this country having over 800 species: the passion was born and from there, we decided to concentrate on bird photography.
In November 2021, we took a trip to the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria).
In 2022, we spent 6 months in South Africa from January to June: although the main goal was to have Florent improving his English in a local school, we also arranged photographic trips to various places in the country.
In 2023, we visited Thailand, Senegal, Ecuador and Madagascar, all amazing countries for birding!
In 2024, we added North Sulawesi and Halmahera Islands of Indonesia where the number of endemic birds is just amazing.
Finally, in 2025, the Yunnan province of China impressed us with its immense bird diversity, we will have to visit again as soon as possible!
We are aware that not all our pictures are of premium quality as some images have been purposely kept for memory. Should professional photographers read these lines, any advise or encouraging message would be much appreciated!
